Corporate Event Space in Toronto
Are you looking for a unique space to hold a
corporate event in the city? Too often, conferences, meetings, or team building
events are held in concrete boxes with little personality or atmosphere. For
your next event, why not look for a venue that offers a beautiful ambience? The Eglinton Grand
can add elegance to any corporate function!
The Eglinton Theatre was built in the 1930s
in classic Art Deco style, and opened in 1936 as the most luxurious of Toronto’s
movie palaces. Hailed as the "Show Place of Toronto”, the building went on to
win the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada’s Bronze Medal for 1937. The
Eglinton Theatre featured high ceilings and glittering chandeliers, original
glass etchings and statuary, plush seating, details such as wainscoting, and
mural art. Even the washrooms were elegant, featuring large anterooms and posh
Many of the century’s best films played at
the Eglinton, from The Jolson Story to
Titanic. However, as the decades wore
on, movie-going evolved, with multiplex cinemas replacing single-movie venues.
The Eglinton kept its doors open until 2002, when Famous Players announced that
it would no longer operate as a movie house.
Fortunately, the following year Dynamic
Hospitality and Entertainment began restoring the building to its
former glory. Replacing worn-out fixtures and furnishings with 1930s-style
décor and adding fine accents of mahogany, ebony, and marble, the company created
the perfect events venue, right in the heart of the city.
Renamed the Eglinton Grand, the facility boasts a welcoming
lobby space, a two tiered mezzanine area, perfect for cocktails, which overlooks
a large main ballroom. It also includes an intimate separate gallery space. The
Eglinton Grand has been designated a landmark site. However, there is not an
additional landmark fee.
In addition to the beauty and elegance of the
